With breathtaking views to the Apuan Alps and Carrara hills, the neighbouring villas of La Vecchia Canonica and Casa Glyn provide the painter with the precious prospect of glorious, unspoilt Tuscan landscapes.
Perched high on the edge of the village of Cotto, La Vecchia Canonica and Casa Glyn have been sympathetically restored with all modern conveniences whilst maintaining their traditional regional character.
The villas are set in acres of terraced and secluded gardens with mature fruit trees and vines. Their two swimming pools and surrounding deck areas command captivating views, and tempt one to enjoy a refreshing dip. There is also a wonderful shaded terrace where you can relax with a glass of wine and watch the sun sink over the verdant hills.
In addition to painting in and around Cotto's old washing places, rustic farm cottages and irresistible domed church, we will also go on painting trips to, for example, the nearby walled town of Fivizzano, the private cloistered convent of Il Convento Di Carmine, and the imposing Castle Verrucola.
This part of Tuscany is unique in its beauty and is perfect for both the beginner and the accomplished to enjoy the pleasures of painting!
Most painting holidays run every year, so ask Bettina about future dates if you need to.
