Highland Loch, Achintraid

A visit to the Scottish Highlands is always exciting whether you paint or not. But equipped with an easel and brush you have the added bonus of taking a bit of the glorious landscape home with you. The scenery has not changed much since I first started teaching courses there in 2002 and it gives me such pleasure to revisit the area, meet familiar faces and introduce new painters to the natural beauty and history.

As always the food and hospitality of our hosts Gillian and Mark Pattinson were outstanding, and even Rob Roy made a brief appearance with sword and verse in hand on our last night! “Best time I had on a painting holiday”, was a comment from one of the painting participants on the course in Scotland which might sum up the wonderful week we had at Brynaport.

I hope you enjoy painting where ever you are and am looking forward to meeting some of you on my next course in July at Coombe Farm Studios in Devon.
